POLICE have released a CCTV image as investigations continue into an incident of attempted theft that occurred at Gillams Tea Rooms, Market Street, Ulverston at about 3.25pm on July 27.
Police would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV footage as part of their investigation. He is described as, in his mid-30s to mid-40s, 6ft tall, slim build, balding with facial stubble he was wearing dark blue trousers and t-shirt.
Whilst staff in the delicatessen side of the shop were otherwise engaged a prospective customer was found trying to reach into the shop till having already opened the draw.
The shop owner, who intervened during the incident, received minor injury to his finger. Nothing was taken during the incident.
