PEOPLE over 70 are being invited to enjoy a free night’s bed and breakfast in a luxury retirement apartment in Lancaster.
The idea has been dreamed up by developer McCarthy and Stone to “help remove many of the fears people feel when considering a downsizing move”.
The company’s Williamson Court development, on Greaves Road, offers a restaurant, a rooftop terrace with views of Morecambe Bay, a guest suite, homeowners’ lounge, 24/7 call system and an active social calendar.
Fiona Brooks, regional sales and marketing manager for McCarthy and Stone North West, said the overnight stay gave people a chance to experience the lifestyle at Williamson Court before making any commitment.
“They can talk to others who have already made the move and who can share their experiences, and get to picture themselves settling in there,” she said.
“This is something mainstream housebuilders aren’t able to offer, so it’s unique in that way, and it can be really important in helping people come to an informed decision about what is right for them, and their particular circumstances.”
