AN AWARD-winning Eden pub with scope to expand has come onto the market for £675,000.
Grade I-listed Dockray Hall, in Penrith, won the title of Tourism Pub of the Year at this year's Cumbria Tourism awards.
The inn has two bars and a snug, with seating for more than 80 customers. Local ales on tap include the pub's own brewed Loweswater Gold.
Tom O'Malley, of agents Christie & Co, said the pub had "plenty of growth potential for purchasers to capitalise on". A private dining or function room could be created on the first floor to make the most of Dockray Hall's "excellent reputation for food", he explained.
Meanwhile, three first-floor bedrooms could be refurbished as guest or staff accommodation.
The property's history dates back to the 15th century and it was briefly home to the future King Richard III, whose grandfather built it.
Dockray Hall is being offered for sale freehold.
