KENDAL is a special, unique place with our river protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation.
Kendal deserves far better than not to keep the heart of our much-loved and visited home to fast-track a prehistoric "flood solution" for funding from the European Regional Development Fund. There are tried-and-tested, more effective working flood solutions in place already in other areas, working with the natural environment.
This is essential for Kendal's status of one of the most desirable places in the Lakes to visit, not to mention the impact on our protected wildlife. I call for a independent review.
