SOUTH Lakeland District Council has elected a new chairman and leader of the council at its annual meeting tonight (Wednesday).
Councillor Jonathan Brook received more votes than the other nominee Coun Kevin Lancaster to get the nod to replace outgoing chair Coun Ian Stewart.
Leader of the council will once again be Coun Brendan Jameson while his deputy will be Coun Andy Shine.
