HOUSEHOLDERS across South Lakeland are being urged not to leave their doors and windows unlocked or open this summer, as part of a crime crackdown.
South Lakeland District Council has launched a new Lock It or Lose It campaign, which is also set to target motorists who leave windows and sun roofs open.
The authority is dishing out stickers and encouraging residents to put them by locks and on doors to remind people to lock-up.
They are available from tourist information centres and libraries in the area, as well as Age Concern, Cumbria Police, South Lakes Housing, SLDC and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service.
