Police name German tourist who died following accident

POLICE have named the German tourist who died following a collision on a Kendal road.

Brunhilde Diehn, 62, from Erfurt in Germany was rushed to Royal Lancaster Infirmary after she was involved in a collision with a van on Blackhall Road, Kendal, yesterday (Friday) at noon.

However, she died of the injuries she sustained as a result of the accident later that day.

Ms Diehn was a member of a coach party which was travelling to Windermere.

The road was closed for around three hours as a result of the incident.
