Patients put local hospitals among top 20 per cent

HOSPITAL patients in Morecambe Bay have rated local hospitals among the country's top 20 per cent.

According to a study published by the Healthcare Commission, patients of the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust - which runs Kendal's Westmorland General Hospital, Furness General Hospital in Barrow and the Royal Lancaster Infirmary - awarded the trust between 83 and 89 marks out of 100 for care.

The scores placed the trust in the top fifth of trusts surveyed.
