BOWNESS Tourist Information Centre is being given a share of a £100,000 funding boost to help secure its future.
The TIC has been awarded the cash from the North West Development Agency and the Lake District National Park Authority, which are also giving cash to Keswick and Ullswater TICs.
Together the three centres deal with 800,000 customers a year.
A park authority report found that TICs were an important way of reaching the public.
They offered face to face communication in a way that publications, literature and other media were unable to do.
