Bluetongue vaccine hits the north-west

THE vaccine for Bluetongue disease has moved a step closer to the region’s livestock farmers.
Farms in Cheshire and Greater Manchester will now be able to vaccinate their animals after the north-west of England was admitted into the Bluetongue Protection Zone.
But Cumbria and north Lancashire remains outside of the protection zone, and there are still fears that if the vaccine does not reach the region within the next week, farmers will lose out when sales begin at the end of August, because each animal must wait for one month after receiving the jab before it can be moved.

Home to Phnom Penh
Returned home to my flat in Phnom Penh yesterday. Seems like I have been away for ages, had a great trip to Thailand meeting up with a friend from Kendal who I been busy traveling in Australia and New Zealand.
