NORMAL traffic flow has resumed in Kendal after a car crash at the junction of two main roads in the town.

A white Vauxhall estate car and a black Skoda Fabia estate car collided at the junction Highgate and Gillinggate at around 11 o clock this morning, forcing the closure of both roads and causing traffic to be diverted from the A6.

The male driver of the Vauxhall was taken to Lancaster Royal Infirmary with head injuries which were not thought to be life threatening.

The male driver of the Skoda was also been taken to Lancaster with less serious injuries.

The vehicles have now been recovered and traffic flow has resumed.
