A SOUTH Lakeland village has been reconnected to the electricity supply, after a power cut lasting nearly 29 hours.

Homes and businesses in Dent were cut off shortly after 9am on Monday and, after two generators failed to work, were only reconnected at around 1.30pm today (Tuesday).

The problems are thought to be linked to a fault with an underground cable however United Utilities have yet to confirm that.
