THREE giant environmentally friendly classrooms have been delivered to a South Lakeland school.
Traffic was brought to a standstill in Windermere, this afternoon, as the 20 tonne revolutionary ‘Kita Pods’ were transported in convoy to Windermere St Anne’s School’s Elleray Preparatory School, in Church Street.
Dozens of pupils, parents and teachers excitedly watched the arrival of the pods, which with their English chestnut shingle exterior, look like giant headless armadillos.
Elleray head teacher, Ben Freeman, on seeing a pod for the first time as they arrived at the school gates, said: “It is excellent, it is going to be exciting to see them decked out with both ends complete with glass.”
