SOUTH Lakeland’s commitment to ‘green’ building will be under the spotlight next week.
The Lake District National Park Authority office in Kendal has been chosen as the launch location for Cumbria Green Build Fortnight, which starts on Tuesday (August 26).
More than 40 free events, designed to be informative and interesting for both the public and professionals, have been arranged throughout the county to showcase environmental features from renewable energy to sustainable building design.
The Kendal launch will promote ways that businesses can reduce their carbon emissions and an event in Staveley – intriguingly called Beer, Bikes, Bread and Beaujolais - will show the work of a variety of environmentally friendly businesses.
Now in its third year, the Green Build Fortnight is run by Cumbria Action for Sustainability.
A detailed programme can be found at www.cafs.org.uk or by ringing 01768 210276.
