Halifax axes Kendal agency

THE Halifax is axing its estate agents in Kendal as a result of the housing market downturn.
The office, on Stricklandgate, will close on September 24 while the company has said it will shut a further 52 branches by the end of the year.
The Halifax’s larger agencies, in Ulverston and Carnforth, will both stay open but a spokesman for the firm said it could not confirm which other branches were shutting or when as staff were still being informed.
