On Wednesday 27th August at 21.00 Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called by Cumbria Police and asked to go to the assistance of a group of 7 D of E award students from Gloucestershire who had become lost and needed assistance. The caller had been able to give a very good description of their location and an accurate map grid reference.
A number of team members were sent to the position where the group was quickly located. Though tired and dispirited their were no injuries. The group was escorted from the fells and taken to a campsite in Glenridding. They intend to continue their expedition on Thursday morning.
