THE population of Cumbria is averagely obese according to a ‘fat map’ of Britain published yesterday.
The map shows Camden in London as having the lowest percentage of obese people (3.9 per cent) and Shetland with the highest (15.5 per cent).
Although Cumbria on the whole fares well in the fat stakes, a report by Dr Foster Research for the National Obesity Forum suggests that obesity is rising in all areas and is spreading from urban areas to rural communities.
