Hundreds sign test centre petition

NEARLY 400 people have signed a petition on the Number 10 website against plans to close Kendal’s motorcycle test centre at the end of September.
Gareth McKeever, the prospective Conservative candidate for Westmorland and Lonsdale, was one of the latest people to join the campaign, adding his signature electronically this week.
Under the cuts proposed by the Government, motorcyclists would have to travel to a new ‘multi-purpose test centre’ in Carlisle, adding miles to their journey and adding to the carbon emissions.
