BRITAIN’S Olympic organisers are to be asked to introduce the world to fell racing during the 2012 games.
Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron is planning to write to the Olympic Organising Committee to formally request that the popular country sport be considered seriously as an exhibition event to which top class runners from around the world would be invited.
Mr Farron decided to push the idea – with the Lake District as a venue – after taking part in two fell races last weekend.
