A SOUTH Lakeland business has struck gold for its commitment to the environmental-friendly cause.

Pure Lakes, which makes natural skin care products, has earned the coveted gold award from the Cumbria Business Environment Network (CBEN).

The award recognises the Grasmere firm’s environmental management systems and its efforts to minimise the impact of its products on the environment.

Pure Lakes produces a wide range of biodegradable toiletries and skin care products, which are made using natural ingredients and are free of artificial colours and perfumes.

Iain Blackburn, co-founder of Pure Lakes, said: “The gold CBEN award is an acknowledgement of our commitment and determination to provide our customers with a high quality product range that also meets the most stringent criteria for carbon footprint reduction.

“In addition, our products are natural, gentle, additive and chemical-free. People with sensitive skin or those with skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis can use our products with confidence.”
