A BUS service for one of the Lakes’ most beautiful and popular sites has been extended after a trial run.

The X31, which was tested in August, connects Tarn Hows to Coniston, Hawkshead and Grizedale, will now run between October 13 and November 2.

The service will run during the busy October school half term week

More than 250,000 people visit Tarn Hows every year and a spokesman for The National Trust, which cares for the land, said at busy times there is high demand for car parking, which has led to the new service, run by Blueworks, being put in place.

For further information and timetables, visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk and search for tarn hows.
