AS ONE door closed, another has opened for Alan Capstick, who has formed his own business after his former employer shut its Kendal operation.

Autoglass pulled out of the town earlier this year, as part of a series of closures nationwide, but Alan decided to become his own boss.

Following lengthy research and preparation work, and after completing a business start-up training course at Cumbria Rural Enterprise Agency, he was ready to take the plunge.

The result is Lakeland Windscreens, which trades from Kendal’s Beezon Trading Estate at the unit previously occupied by his former employer.
