Roads closed by snow in Westmorland

OVERNIGHT snowfall has forced the closure of several main roads in Cumbria.
The A66 has been blocked off by snow gates at Brough, resulting in a queue of heavy goods vehicles at the junction.
The A6 has been closed at Kendal in both directions. The road is impassable between Kendal and Shap. Also the A689, Station Road, has been closed to traffic in both directions at Alston.
