MORE roads across South Lakeland have been closed because of treacherous driving conditions.

A wagon is stuck in a dip in Windermere Road, Kendal, and is causing an obstruction. As a result traffic has built up on the A591 Kendal bypass. Police say the wagon will be removed as soon as possible.

The Kirkstone Pass is closed to traffic in both directions with driving conditions described as hazardous due to snow between Townhead Brow and Hartsop. The Struggle, which runs from the top of Kirkstone Pass into Ambleside, is also closed.

The A65 Settle bypass is also closed because of snowfall.

The A591 is ‘just’ passable between Keswick and Windermere, but driving conditions there are also described as hazardous.
