POWER tools have been stolen in a series of burglaries in Broughton-in-Furness this week.

Among the items taken in the town since Monday was an Ifor Williams tipping trailer valued at about £1,000.

Police say the thieves have targeted isolated buildings and compounds.

Officers are urging people to remain vigilant, and want to hear from anyone with information or anyone who has been offered any power tools.

People can contact Cumbria Police on 0845 3300247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
