Cumbria Police hunt thwarted safe raiders

POLICE are searching for four men who tried to steal a safe from a Pub in Eden.
The raiders, who wore dark clothing, attempted to steal the safe from the Pooley Bridge Inn, in Pooley Bridge, at 2.30am this morning.
The burglars, one of whom was described as having a Liverpool accent, left empty-handed after a female member of staff disturbed them.
They made their getaway in a car, which was later found abandoned in Brougham Street.
Officers are searching the Penrith area for the men.
