Big black 'panther-like creature' sighting in Dales

A DRAMATIC sighting of a big black cat has been reported in the Yorkshire Dales, just weeks after a “panther like creature” was spotted in the same spot.

John Allan, from Ingleton, called The Westmorland Gazette in excitement on Friday after seeing what he described as a “non domestic” feline sitting on the village’s football field.

The 32-year-old, who said he would “put his life” on it being a big black cat, raced for his camera after spotting the creature and returned to the scene to capture photographs of unusually large paw prints in the snow.

These footprints don't come from a big cat. For one thing they aren't anything like big enough ! For a panther or puma size cat the forepaws should be about the size of the back of the man's hand and they are clearly much much smaller.
Also the prints seem longer than they are broad and possibly show the marks of non-retractable claws, which suggests a member of the dog family, possibly fox or a small domestic dog. Sorry. David
