THE A65 in North Yorkshire has been closed following a serious road traffic collision.
The accident occurred at around 1.50pm this afternoon (Wednesday) and involved a red Peugeot 306, which came off the road at Long Preston, The police, firefighters and the ambulance service are currently at the scene and local diversions are in place.
A police spokesperson said that the road is likely to remain closed for four hours.
The car had been travelling from the Cleatop roundabout, near Settle towards Long Preston when the incident took place.
Anyone who witnessed the accident should contact traffic constable Mark Tiffany at Western Area Road Policing Group on 0845-6060-247.
