A 30-YEAR-OLD woman was airlifted to hospital from the Lake District after suffering serious head injuries in a cycle accident.
The woman, from Impington in Cambridgeshire, was cycling along the A5091 near Aira Force, Ullswater, on Sunday afternoon when she fell from her machine.
She was flown to hospital in Newcastle by air ambulance.
Cumbria Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which occurred at 1.25pm.
