IT WAS a great weekend for running in South Lakeland as Kendal AC's Rebecca Robinson was the first British woman to finish in the prestigous Great Manchester Run over 10k.
Newcastle doctor Robinson clocked 34.13 to finish tenth behind Kenyan Vivian Cheruiyot.
The Brathay Windermere Marathon also took place on Sunday and Ian Fisher of Otley AC won in a time of 2hr 35min 32sec from Niku Millott (Metro Aberdeen) 2-44-06 in second and Mohammed Manir-Jolley (Wigan Phoenix) in 2-44-24 in third.
First South Lakeland runner was Kendal's Jamie Robbins in 2-50-41, in eighth with Paul Singleton, of Ambleside AC, ninth in 2-52-13, Jo Fletcher (Severn AC) was the first woman.
