Cruiser destroyed in marina blaze

A 35-FOOT motor cruiser has been destroyed in a fire at Windermere Marina on Sunday night.
No one was injured in the incident - the owners were sleeping at one of the properties in the Marina complex, Brian Steadman, fire station manager at Kendal told the Gazette.
Three other boats moored alongside the cruiser were affected by heat damage.
Fire appliances from Windermere and Staveley were called to the scene around midnight to deal with the blaze.
A gas cylinder had exploded on board the cruiser before the fire service arrived, and it took three hours to bring the fire under control.
