KENDAL'S own British Superbikes star James Ellison was jubilant after securing his first-ever BSB in Bank Holiday Monday's racing at Donington.
Ellison stepped up to take top spot on the podium after winning race two on the Airwaves Yamaha bike.
Team-mate and championship leader Leon Camier won the first race, with Ellison runner-up to make it a one-two for the Airwaves team, but a technical hitch saw Camier drop out of the frame in the second race.
Ellison told the official BSB website: "It's about time I won a race in BSB.... it's been a long time coming.
"The plan was that I was going to run with Leon (Camier) but it didn't happen, so I had to control it from the front and set the pace."
