AT THE halfway point of the season, KA Hale A lead Division 1 of the Kendal and District Bowling League after a decisive 10-0 win over Netherfield B in their latest match.
They are 17 points clear of nearest rivals Holme A, who won 7-3 at Netherfield A.
Towards the foot of the table Crosthwaite A had up a battling 8-2 win over Levens A.
Topping the Merits is Martin Gilpin (KA Hale, 25pts +124), with Ian Nicholson( Netherfield A, 25pt +115) hot on his heels.
Bowness A lead Division Two but only by four points from Ambleside A. Bowness won 8-2 against Allithwaite A, while second-placed Ambleside A won 6-4 over Ingleborough A .
In joint third place are Victoria B and Holme C, who met this week with Holme C winning 8-2.
Levens B helped their fight to move away from the drop zone with a 9-1 over Burton A.
Only 21 points separate all teams in the division, so promotion must be an option as well as relegation.
Subscription A’s David Travis (24pt +79) leads the Merits, with Derek Tebay (Ambleside A 21pts +63) in second place.
The top three top teams in Division 3 are covered by six points, making for an exciting tussle.
Leaders Kirkby Lonsdale lost at Endmoor A 6-4 and second-place Lindale A beat Heversham A 7-3.
Third-placed Netherfield C won 9-1 against Bowness B.
Leading the merits in this Division is unbeaten Erline Robinson (28pts +90) and following her is Allan Stewart (Holme B 24pts +7).
There was a apiece for both the top two in Division 4 this week as leaders Burneside B lost 9-1 at KA Hale C and second-placed Sedbergh lost 9-1 at Ingleborough A.
Holding the top merit position in Division 4 is Sue Hillbeck (27pts +94).
Arnside B sat at home this week while the rest of Division 5 played but still remain in top spot after the results, although the second-placed team result was not to hand at the itme of writing Third place is held by Langdale A, who won 8-2 at Heversham B.
Bob Cherry (Arnside B 24, +87) tops the Merits closely followed by Neil Dodds (Heversham B 24 +85).
