UNIBOND League Executive Officer Duncan Bayley is to step down from his post at the end of June, bringing to a close 30 years at the helm of the league's administration.

The announcement was made at the league’s AGM in Blackpool.

A life member of the league, Mr Bayley will now act as a consultant to the competition he joined as league secretary in 1979 and has since served as Chairman, Chief Executive and Treasurer.

The move comes as the UniBond League completes an 18-month review of its systems, processes and officers' duties.

The review has led to the creation of the post of Assistant League Secretary in a new team of three officers headed by League Secretary Phil Bradley and completed by Operations Manager Alan Allcock.

Filling the new post is Angie Firth, formerly secretary of FC Halifax Town.

The review will also see the introduction of computerised player registration and fixture software with effect from the 2009/10 season, bringing the UniBond into line with other Step 3 leagues.
