Traffic problems on the M6 following accident

TRAFFIC travelling both ways on the M6 has been affected by an earlier accident.
The southbound carriageway has been closed between J39 at Shap and J40 at Penrith due to barrier repairs after a lorry was involved in a collision with the central reservation on the northbound carriageway earlier this morning.
Two lanes on the northbound carriageway (of three) were closed but have now been reopened.
