A MAN is in a stable condition in hospital after a "serious" road traffic collision on the A5084 yesterday near Coniston.
The 47-year-old, from Barrow, was riding a black and red Honda motorbike, which was involved in collision with a blue Mercedes, driven by a 62-year-old Coniston woman, at Water Yeat, between Sunny Bank and Torver.
The man was airlifted taken to Furness General Hospital, where police say he is in a stable condition.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact PC Paul Flynn at Ulverston Roads Policing Unit on 0845 3300247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
