THE TRIP to play Runcorn Linnets provided good shooting practice for Kendal Town and striker Alex Taylor helped himself to a four-timer in a sweet 6-0 victory for Lee Ashcroft's men.
Taylor weighed in with two goals either side of half time against the Vodkat North West Counties League Division 1 outfit.
A Warren Beattie strike split Taylor's first-half brace to make it 3-0 at half time and Michael Cole added a penalty in the second half to make up the tally at Wincham Park on Tuesday evening.
Town will complete their pre-season build-up on Saturday, with an away fixture at Clitheroe (3pm), managed by former ex-Town favourite Peter Smith and currently with former Parkside striker Zac Clark in their line-up.
Admittance for the new UniBond season at Town is £8, and the league campaign starts with a home match against Worksop Town on Saturday, August 15.
