KIRKBY Lonsdale Motor Club runs the Devil’s Own Classic Rally from the club’s home town this weekend.

After safety checks and documentation, the 30 crews taking part will contests several maneuverability tests on private land before arriving at the Fat Lamb at Ravenstonedale for tea.

After a well-earned break, the crews will be given more information to get them round a 90-mile night section using maps.

The event is open to contenders in the NESCRO Summer Series, HRCR Night Rally Championship and Kirkby Lonsdale MC’s Historic and Night Rally Championships.

Next Wednesday’s social evening will be at the Classic Concours Show at The Heaves Hotel, Kendal.

The display was previously held at the Redwell at Arkholme, but due to the amount of cars on display a larger area was needed and so it has moved to the club’s base.

Everyone with an interesting vehicle is invited to arrive, show their car and vote in all catagories in the hotel grounds.

The classes range from: best Saloon, best Sports /GT, best pre ’73, best ’73 - ’90, best post ’90, best customised/modified, best Porsche, best exterior, best interior, best engine compartment.

There is also a fun award for most faithful servant (not necessarily a pristine example).

Entry free is £7.50 and includes supper (everyone welcome at The Heaves Hotel from 6.30pm).
