RISING rugby star Mark Wilson will get a taste of first team action on Saturday when he lines up as Newcastle Falcons’ number seven at Worcester Warriors.
Wilson, 20, of Kendal, has been part of the Falcons’ academy since he was 12, but has also been playing for Blaydon RUFC this season.
Following a strong performance for Blaydon in front of Falcons’ coach Steve Bates in a 28-22 win over Tynedale, Wilson has been selected to start for Falcons in the LV Cup match.
Mark’s dad Mike Wilson said the family was very proud he will make his debut on Saturday and they are travelling to Worcester for the game.
The game at the Sixways Stadium kicks off at 12.30pm.
See Thursday’s Gazette to find out how Mark gets on.
