A HOUSE in Warton, near Carnforth, was badly damaged when a gas boiler exploded.
Fire crews spent two hours damping down the flames at the semi-detached home on Lytham Road last night, after being called to the property at 6.30pm.
Thermal imaging cameras helped them get to the source of the fire in an under-stairs storeroom, which was gutted by the flames.
A spokeswoman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the rest of the house suffered severe smoke damage but no one was hurt.
