A SECTION of the M6 was closed for nearly three hours on Sunday following a fatal crash.
Sean Murphy, 25, of Lancaster, suffered fatal injuries when the white Honda Civic, which he was driving, left the road and crossed the hard shoulder before colliding with fencing and trees at around 4.40am.
Two female passengers from the Morecambe area were taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with minor injuries and the north bound carriageway between junctions 32 and 33 at Forton was closed.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen the vehicle before the accident to call 08451 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
