TWO people died after their car veered off the motorway and crashed into some trees.
Police said the Vauxhall Corsa had been travelling southbound on the M6 and crashed into some trees before overturning between junctions 35 and 34 around 7.45pm yesterday.
A third person in the car was taken to Lancaster hospital in a serious condition.
Officers are still in the process of identifying the driver and two passenger as well as contacting the next of kin.
The motorway was closed for five hours while investigations were carried out.
