OUTSTANDING swims by Daniel Armstrong set the tone for Troutbeck ASC in competition at the Barnsley Graded sprint Gala in Sheffield’s National Pool.
Armstrong’s opened with a stunning 50m backstroke victory, taking the trophy in 42min 59sec.
Another great swim in the 50m freestyle brought him a speeding ticket in 35-45.
He then went on to collect further trophies for third places in breaststroke and butterfly to complete a fine set of performances.
Team captain Hannah Noble also had a fine gala with speeding tickets for her swims at 50m breaststroke and 50m backstroke.
In the 50m butterfly she was just touched out into second place in a time of 35-50.
Laura Garrick collected speeding tickets for backstroke and freestyle and then powered her way into third place at 50m breaststroke in 42-79.
Stephanie Booth shone over the 50m breaststroke to take a speeding ticket.
Despite not being at his best, Lewis Horrax swam strongly to take third place at 50m butterfly and a fourth place in the 50m freestyle.
Although outside the trophy places Daniel Booth, Abbey Bissland, Ryan Colman, Ellie Robertson, Nicole Bissland and Rebekah Booth all came up with personal-best performances.
