Division 1 Burneside 3 Appleby 1 APPLEBY could have taken a first-minute lead but John Coward’s shot was tipped around the post by Danny Roberts.
Burneside found their rhythm and twice hit the woodwork before taking the lead on 20 minutes.
A neat passing move on the left wing ended with Mike Wilson making no mistake at the far post from eight yards.
Appleby hit back minutes later but Burneside had a 2-1 lead at half-time after defender Steve Jamieson's low shot sneaked in at the near post.
Burneside wrapped up the points on the hour mark through a Jordan Knowles wonder goal.
The left-sided midfielder picked up the ball 40 yards out and beat three defenders before lifting the ball over the advancing keeper from 12 yards.
Lunesdale United 1 Keswick 3 Keswick remain five points clear at the top after a comfortable victory at Lunesdale United.
On a difficult pitch Keswick took the lead when Andy Rigg was fouled in the box on 15 minutes, Mark Lamb slotting home the penalty.
It was 2-0 ten minutes later when Richard Bannister fired a low shot into the bottom corner.
In the second half Lunesdale came into the match with a couple of strong set pieces, but with ten minutes to go Paul Frampton made it 3-0 as he slid in ahead of two defenders to knock a Barrister cross into an open goal.
Lunesdale grabbed a late goal, but Keswick took the points.
Kirkoswald 4 Shap 2 IN A game fraught with tough refereeing decisions, Kirkoswald came out on top.
Sean Elliott opened the scoring for the home side only for Shap to level moments later, John Bentley finding the top corner.
But Kirkoswald took control and were 2-1 up at the break thanks to a James Cranston header.
From the restart the sides were level again with Martin Coleman firing under the keeper but goals from Elliott and Ross Cowperthwaite sealed a Kirkoswald victory at 4-2.
Division Two Ibis 6 Windermere SC 1 STEPHEN Knowles bagged a hat-trick in Ibis’s first match since December 5 to wrap up three points.
Comfortable Ibis went in four goals to the good at half-time thanks to Knowles (2), Chris Ellwood and Adam Owen.
Windermere scored a consolation after the break before powerful efforts from Ellwood for his second and Knowles rounded off a handsome win.
Junior Cup Shap Reserves 2 Burneside Reserves 3 THIRD division Burneside upset second division Shap in the quarter-finals of the Junior Cup.
Matt Regan won the match for Burneside in extra-time to send the visitors into the semi-finals after Dean McNeill scored a brace to level the tie 2-2 after 90 minutes.
A minutes’ silence was held before the game and Burneside dedicated the win to Bri Metcalf, a popular team member who died during the Christmas period.
