Charles Edmondson (piano) and David Edmondson (flute) perform French Connections on Monday, June 14 (1pm), and later, at 9pm, the first of the festival series of Lite Bites and Music is courtesy of the Lunesdale Quartet.

Noel Bertram directs the President's Concert Music for Brass on Tuesday, June 15 (7.30pm) and the Hilton Piano Trio play on Wednesday, June 16 (1pm).

A major force in the musical life of the North of England and beyond, the four players (oboe, bassoon, clarinet and piano) of the Mowbray Wind Ensemble pick up their instruments on Thursday, June 17 (7.30pm) playing works by Poulenc, Hurleston, Lerner and Loewe.

Dent Parish Church plays its part in the festival on Saturday, June 19 (7.15pm), staging an organ recital by Roger Bush alongside the Edinburgh Camerata Singers.

And respected Lakeland composer Christopher Gibbs sees the performance of his latest work, Across An Unknown Sea the Quest of St Brendan, performed in dramatic style by an orchestra and Serafin String Quartet, plus soloists, including soprano Anna Markland, on Sunday, June 20 (7.30pm). Directed by Ian Jones. Violinist Julian Cann and pianist David Chapman hold a supper concert of music by Cesar Franck and Beethoven on Monday, June 21 (9pm).

A tea concert in St Mark's Church, Cautley, includes the Friday Consort and Howgill WI Choir plus soloists on Tuesday, June 22 (3pm) and later (7.30pm) the Mary Anderson Ensemble perform Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time. It also includes the first performance of the David Andrew Quartet.

Junior pupils from Chetham's School of Music (1pm) perform at St Andrew's and recitals by Damian Howard (organ) and Matthew Balson (trumpet) are staged at both the United Reformed and Methodist churches on Wednesday, June 23 (from 7.15pm).

The six musicians of the Borders Consort of Early Music are on stage on Saturday, June 26 (1pm) and later Music and Wine is the contribution from the Serafin String Quartet at Sedbergh School Library (7.30pm).

As well as the above performance, the festival features a host of talks including An Introduction to Bach's St John Passion by Deryck Cox on Monday, June 21 (1pm).

Most events are staged at St Andrew's Church unless otherwise stated.
