PASSENGER numbers are up on the Lakes Line between Oxenholme and Windermere.
The Lakes Line Rail User Group (LLRUG) carried out its regular survey and logged more than 1,100 passengers, a rise of 19 per cent on last year.
Dick Smith, of LLRUG, said: “This is the first time we’ve seen over 1,000 passengers on a February count.
It’s the third year we’ve done a check on the first Wednesday in February, and it’s very good to see another rise in numbers.”
