DETECTIVES have released CCTV footage of three people in Kendal on the morning of the fire at the Conservative Party Offices.
Police launched an investigation after receiving reports of a fire at the offices on Highgate during the early hours of Friday, February 19.
The CCTV footage has been released this morning in a bid to identify further witnesses to the incident.
Police believe the three people seen in the footage may be able to help them with their enquires.
Detective Inspector Dave Banks from South Cumbria CID said: "We are releasing these CCTV pictures to try and identify witnesses to this serious incident. The building was seriously damaged and we are fortunate that no one was injured or even killed.
"I would like to appeal to the three people captured in the CCTV to contact detectives in Kendal CID. I'd like to stress that we are not treating them as suspects but believe they may have information that could help our investigation and identify those responsible.
"This investigation is still in its early stages with various lines of enquiry underway. I hope that the local community continue to come forward to help us - we need to find out who is responsible and stop them striking again."
The Conservative Association is offering a £1,000 reward to anyone who comes forward with information that leads to the successful arrest and conviction of those responsible.
Anyone with information about this offence should contact Kendal CID 0845 33 00 247 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
