POLICE arrested four youths on suspicion of burglary after being called to a house near Cow Brow, Lupton, early today.
Officers arrived at the property ‘within minutes’ of being alerted by neighbours who were concerned when they heard suspicious noises.
Police said the owners of the house were away on holiday and the youths were aprehended inside the property.
A car and a van which had been parked on the drive were found a short distance away.
A police spokeswoman said: “Four youths were arrested on suspicion of burglary and taking vehicles away without the owner’s consent.
"They are currently in custody at Kendal Police Station where they are being interviewed by investigating officers.”
