RUNNERS are being sought to take part in what is believed to be the world's only race across a tidal bay.
CancerCare's 5th Cross Bay Challenge takes place at Morecambe Bay on June 6 and is paired with a six-mile family-friendly walk.
The half-marathon (13.1 miles) is mainly on sand, crossing the county border between Cumbria and Lancashire and with two rivers to wade.
CancerCare general manager Peter Hearne said: "We are very proud that last year's race was voted seventh in the top 50 races of its category in 2009. "Word has really started to spread about this event and we have entries flooding in from all over the country - and even a few from abroad."
