COACHLOADS of supporters will be heading south tomorrow morning to cheer on Kendal Town in their biggest match in recent history, reports Dennis Aris.

The prize for victory at AFC Telford is elevation to the UniBond League Premier Division.

In a frantic end to the season, Town delighted the home crowd at Parkside on Saturday by seeing off Eastwood Town 3-0 to finish fifth in the First Division.

That result won them a play-off place and, on Monday, they went one better by grabbing an early goal at Willenhall Town then mounting a gritty defence to go through to the play-off final.

Tomorrow the Kendal contingent will swell the 4,000 home fans already expected to be in the plush Bucks Head stadium.

Town's task is to take on and beat the new club formed after the financial collapse of the Shropshire town's senior club, which will be no mean feat as AFC Telford are anxious to begin the climb back to Football League status.

The teams have met twice this season and go into this match all square at one win each, but Kendal are the league's top goalscorers and, if their strikers hit form, an upset is on the cards.
